The “Our Lady of the Snows” chapel quickly became a popular place of pilgrimage. On 5 August, the feast day of the patron saint, numerous believers from Zermatt and the whole valley make the journey to Schwarzsee to take part in the open-air mass, where they are joined by locals and guests.
